Our son was about to begin the somewhat daunting college application process, and with several years separating him from our first-born Stanford senior, we needed up-to-date guidance and support. As a young boy growing up in Jamaica, it was drilled into me early that education was the way I could one day attain a brighter future. Unfortunately, opportunities are not always available in abundance there and oftentimes we must go abroad for great opportunities.
